Teachers

Teachers & Staff

Our teaching team consists of specialist classroom practitioners and talented performers. Many of our teachers are trained primary and secondary teachers from both mainstream and Special needs schools. We also have many teachers that play in Leicester’s Bardi Symphony Orchestra and other ensembles in and around Leicestershire.

Leonie Smith

Teacher

Leonie is the member of the SMT who arranges lessons with teachers and schools.

Christine Taylor

Teacher

Christine runs the advanced group who are grade 6 upwards, woodwind and brass and orchestra on a Thursday evening.

Alison White

Teacher

Teacher of violin and piano who has worked in Leicestershire almost all of her life with the exception of when she lived in Oman, where she lived and taught for many years.

Anne Mee

Teacher

Teacher of cello and double bass, who is also an exceptional pianist. Anne can often be seen playing cello with the local orchestras as well as playing concertos as a soloist.

Elizabeth Medrow

Teacher

Head of strings and teacher of violin and piano. Elizabeth also runs the string group on Thursdays.

Elizabeth is our exam coordinator and an accompanist.

John Bean

Teacher

Leader of sinfonia and teacher of cello. John has many years of experience and works with all ages and abilities.

Rebecca Wong

Teacher

Woodwind and piano teacher and our bassoon specialist. Plays with a number of local orchestras and ensemble groups.

Sally Griffiths

Teacher

Woodwind teacher and our oboe specialist. Plays with a number of local orchestras and ensemble groups.

Tracey Leonard

Teacher

Teacher of guitar and piano and she teaches both individuals and whole classes in a number of schools that we visit.

Keziah Leonard

Teacher

Singing teacher who offers a variety of different genres including opera and musical theatre.

Sarah Wain

Teacher

Strings teacher and our viola specialist. Plays with a number of local orchestras and ensemble groups.

Jo Conquest

Woodwind teacher and our flute specialist. Plays with a number of local orchestras and ensemble groups.
